The 2023 Fender Custom Shop collection, the 1950 Double Esquire, delves deep into the history of Fender's early solid-body guitars. The single pickup Esquire debuted in April 1950 as Fender's first solid-body electric Spanish guitar, and two pickup models were added in October of the same year. The new 1950 Double Esquire pays homage to the model of that era and is a unique gem with a unique combination of elaborate construction.

Presenting premium guitars with a two-piece select ash body for a balanced high range and sweet midrange. Available in Journeyman Relic No Caster Blonde, Relic Aged No Caster Blonde, or Heavy Relic Aged No Caster Blonde finishes, each exuding a carefully aged appearance. The one-piece lift thorn maple neck features a 1950-style "blackguard" profile for a comfortable full-hand feel, with a vintage compounded radius maple fingerboard. Equipped with Custom Shop hand-wound '50-'51 Blackguard pickups and a Modified '51 Nocaster, offering a variety of tones. Additional features include a single-ply black phenolic pickguard, 3-way pickup switch, '51-'54 Telecaster® bridge, vintage-style chrome hardware, and a deluxe hard shell case with strap and certificate.
