The kalimba (mbira), as known as the thumb piano, is an African musical instrument being popular in Sub-Saharan Africa. With a wide variety of names, it's called kalimba in Kenya, mbria in Zimbabwe, like mbe in Congolese, and Sanza or the thumb piano by many others. As one of the most popular musical instruments in Zimbabwe, it's believed that kalimba's music can not only ride the evil from patients but also pray for rain.
The kalimba is small and light to carry. The tradition is to sit in circle and play it with stories when the sunset is at dusk. The natives love to carry it along with the long-walk journey.
